Facilitator training

Would you like the opportunity to further the mission of Mothers' Union by making a real difference to family life and relationships?

If you feel you are:

  • a warm, encouraging person with the ability to listen well and communicate effectively
  • flexible and sensitive in coping with attitudes, opinions and values that may differ from your own
  • willing to become more self-aware of your own experiences either of parenting or marriage and couple relationships

then you might like to consider training to become a facilitator on one of the Mothers' Union central programmes.

Passionate about Parenting

Passionate about Parenting facilitator training equips members (and others) to facilitate parents’ groups in their local community. The training programme is accredited by the Open College Network and as well as 20 hours of group learning sessions there is an additional requirement to produce written work.

Participants are supported throughout the programme by one of our Mothers' Union team of experienced facilitator trainers.

Loving for Life

Loving for Life is facilitator training for those who wish to work with their local clergy to support couples preparing for marriage. Delivered by a Mothers' Union facilitator trainer, this non-accredited programme is normally run over two consecutive days.

Being a facilitator on either of these programmes gives you the chance to come alongside people, offering a range of communication and other straightforward skills that can encourage and enable them to improve their relationships and build stronger families. And you can really see the positive difference that this makes.

To find out more about how you could become a facilitator with Mothers' Union on either of these programmes please contact us.

Skills training

Taking on a role in Mothers' Union sometimes requires us to step outside of our comfort zone and do things we have never done before such as speaking in public or chairing meetings.

Skills training sessions are available for small groups in dioceses (neighbouring dioceses can join together) on a range of topics including:

  • presentation skills and public speaking
  • communication skills
  • chairing and organising meetings
  • team work and delegation
  • basic PowerPoint
